Stand up 2026

A FOURTH STAGE TAKES SHAPE WITH STORM

Norway’s largest music festival, Tons of Rock, is expanding its offering and taking its comedy program to new heights in 2026.

“We always aim to evolve the festival experience and expand the universe — this year with our most ambitious comedy program yet. Stand-up at Tons has become a popular addition to our festival, and having some of the country’s top comedians along with international legend Bill Bailey on the lineup is fantastic,” says festival director Jarle Kvåle.

The comedy stage Storm Stage has, in recent years, grown into a crowd favorite, and this year the effort is doubled. Audiences can look forward to more comedy shows throughout the festival, offering fun breaks between concerts.

“We want to offer more than just music. Tons of Rock should be a complete experience, and comedy is an important part of that. The response from our audience has been overwhelming, so we’re going bigger than ever,” Kvåle continues.

This year’s comedy program features a strong mix of established names and rising favorites from both Norway and abroad. In addition to Bill Bailey — known for combining musical virtuosity with award-winning comedy — the lineup includes acts such as Dag Sørås and Espen Abrahamsen with their podcast Mørk Medisin, Nora Svenningsen, Javad El Bakali, Martin Beyer-Olsen, Cécile Moroni, Sarah Løvald and Paul Myrehaug.

The audience can expect a varied program consisting of classic stand-up, live podcasts, musical comedy and genre-blending performances. The common denominator is high quality, sharp observations and guaranteed laughs.

With this initiative, Tons of Rock further cements its position as more than just a music festival. It is a complete experience arena where music, comedy, football and live entertainment come together.
