Photo and media accreditation

  • If you are not going to bring professional photography equipment to the festival, you should not opt out of the options for photo accreditation.

  • The various photo accreditation:

Photopass - Arena gives access to bring professional photography equipment into the festival area.

Photopass PIT gives access to bring professional photography equipment into the festival area and the opportunity to take photos inside PIT at selected concerts.

  • Photo contracts and photo restrictions from the artist/band can occur at short notice, this is something everyone must respect, if guidelines from the artist/band are broken, you will lose your accreditation without discussion. Even if you know or have previously photographed some of this year's artists/bands, it is the Head of Media who manages the interests of the festival and the artists, and the messages given by the festival are valid.

  • Certain artists/bands have stringent photo policies, allowing only a select few photographers or prohibiting photography during their performances. Tons of Rock does not dictate these restrictions but pledges to consistently honor and comply with them.

  • At times, photo terms from artists/bands may be provided on the day of the show or just minutes before the performance. The security personnel at the pit entrance will always be informed of the updated photo restrictions for the band performing when queried. Security personnel, bound by the artists' restrictions, cannot provide any favors or exceptions.

  • Security will always be the ones who decide when you can enter the pit, and also when you have to leave the pit.

  • Standard photo rules are 3 first songs, no flash, but always double check with security when you enter the pit.

  • The meeting point for photographers at Scream and Moonlight stages is at stage right, and at Vampire stage the meeting point is at stage left. Be at the meeting point in good time before the concert starts, we recommend 20-30 minutes before.

Please be gentle and always obey all information from security, police, the artist/band crew members, and staff with AA or AAA passes.

  • The photo pass does not give you access to the artist village, backstage area, VIP area, onstage or on side stage.

  • Do not use flash, tripods, monopods ect. when you take photos from the pit.

  • If you are press or a photographer the photo pass gives you free entrance to the press tent at any time, here you can sit down, do backups, edit and upload, have a coffee, a chat ect.

  • You will always find the latest updated information in the press tent, which is located on the left side of the main stage.

  • Stay sober, this is important, drugs and alcohol are not allowed. If security or someone from Tons of Rock crew catches press with their accreditation visible while they drink alcohol, you lose your accreditation, no discussion.

  • If you're a freelance photographer without a media outlet and you are requesting a photopass to a show from a publicist, please understand that your request is lower priority than those writers and journalists who have assignments.
