Photo and Media Accreditation

If you are not bringing professional photography equipment to the festival, do not select the photo pass options.

Types of Photo Passes:

  • Photopass - Arena
Grants permission to bring professional photography equipment into the festival area. This does not allow photographing artists on stage.

  • Photopass - PIT
Grants permission to bring professional photography equipment into the festival area and the ability to photograph in the PIT during selected concerts.

You only need one of the photo passes if you are photographing at the festival.

  • Photo contracts and restrictions set by artists/bands may be issued at short notice, and everyone must respect and follow them. Violating the guidelines will result in the immediate revocation of your accreditation, without discussion. Even if you have previously photographed artists/bands from this year’s lineup, the media manager oversees the festival's and artists’ interests. The instructions provided by the festival are final.

  • Some artists/bands have strict photo guidelines, allowing only a few photographers or prohibiting photography during their performance. Tons of Rock does not dictate these restrictions but is committed to respecting and enforcing them.

  • In some cases, Tons of Rock may receive photo restrictions from the artist/band on the day of the show or just minutes before the performance begins. Security personnel at the PIT entrance will always be informed about the current guidelines for the performing artist/band. Security must enforce these restrictions and cannot make exceptions.

  • Security personnel determine when photographers may enter and exit the PIT.

Standard Photo Rules:

  • Only photograph during the first three songs.
  • Flash photography is not permitted.
  • Always confirm with security when entering the PIT.

Meeting Points for Photographers:

  • Scream Stage and Moonlight Stage: Meeting point is to the right of the stage.
  • Vampire Stage: Meeting point is to the left of the stage.
  • Arrive at the meeting point well in advance, ideally 20-30 minutes before the concert starts. Always follow instructions from security, police, artists/bands, crew, and staff with AA or AAA passes.

Accreditation does not provide access to the artist village, backstage areas, VIP section, stage, or side stages.

Do not use flash, tripods, monopods, or similar equipment in the PIT.

Press Tent:

Accredited press and photographers with a photo pass may use the press tent at any time. Here, you can:

  • Take a break
  • Back up files
  • Upload and edit photos
  • Write articles
  • Enjoy a coffee and a chat

The latest updates can be found in the press tent, located to the left of the main stage (Scream).

Substances:

Stay sober. Alcohol and other intoxicants are strictly prohibited. If security personnel or Tons of Rock staff observe you consuming alcohol while wearing your accreditation, your accreditation will be revoked immediately – no exceptions.

Priority of photographers:

If you are a freelance photographer without a media outlet and request a photo pass for a show, be aware that your request will have lower priority than journalists on assignment.
